Learn to Relax
The first step to overcoming anxiety is a better understanding of the cause, which you will get on this online eight-week course. You will learn how anxiety operates in your life and this is where mindfulness, compassion and meditation come in. Research has shown that a regular meditation practice reprograms the neural pathways in the brain. This helps you to experience lower levels of anxiety.
Through mindfulness we can learn to begin to unhook from our anxiety inducing thoughts and to rest more and more at "home" in the present moment- with life as it is rather than how we think or imagine it is. Through learning how to "unhook" from your thoughts and the stories the mind creates, you also begin to live more in the body and less in the head - a much more pleasurable and joyful place to be.

We all experience anxiety, butterlies in the stomach, nervous energy, heart palpitations, upset stomach, tension headaches and also an underlying sense of something not quite right. The pandemic has increased this tendency for anxiety. The primary cause of anxiety is contained in our believed thoughts about ourselves and life in general. If we have been anxious for a long time it seems to become our "default setting," and this can manifest as a persistant worrying or even a deep lying sense of some impending doom. This kind of anxiety can paralyse us.
