Mindfulness in the Workplace Reduce sick leave and increase staff engagement
Recent research has shown the percentage of stress-related absence in the workplace has doubled in the past year, rising from 5% in 2017 to 10% in 2018.
Mindfulness in the Workplace helps to reduce sick leave, improve performance and have happier, more productive staff. A number of randomised controlled trials of workplace mindfulness-based training courses have found positive effects on burnout, wellbeing and stress; increased emotional resilience; greater ability to focus; deeper empathy for others and greater clarity of thinking and decision making.
Our range of mindfulness courses can be carried out on site or at our venue, at convenient times, with all the necessary collateral and course follow up. They give your staff a range of mindfulness tools and techniques specifically designed to help them organise their workload, collaborate better, handle difficult situations and gain greater self- awareness.

Mindfulness at Work
Each week will have themes and applied practices.
Week 1: How you work is a personal thing, there is no magic app. Mindfulness is about personal experience rather than having ways that are right and wrong per se.
Week 2: Build attention as the core to both a mindful approach and to getting work done.
Week 3: Workflow system - the technical approach to personal performance.
Week 4: Develop tools and attitudes that enable focused work to take place. Ensuring work is completed and letting go of it, so it’s no longer taking attention.
Week 5: Understand the impacts the internal and external environment can have on work and taking steps to maximise your work space.
Week 6: Develop a range of effective and supportive personal practices and attitudes which work for you in your workplace and can be applied through everyday behaviours and practices at work

During this four-day mindfulness course for healthcare professionals, you will learn the art of mindfulness and compassion meditation from author and international mindfulness teacher Suryacitta and Dr Zahida Adam, GP and coach.
You will learn a number of meditations during the course, be introduced to the evidence base for mindfulness and there will be time for discussion and reflection. You will be asked to practice meditation a little every day at home. You will be shown how to bring mindfulness into your work and everyday life, benefiting not only yourself but your patients too.

This course on mindfulness for healthcare professionals is open to all, those of any faith and no faith.

To be quite frank I have found these sessions with Dr Adam superb. The sessions are well thought through, relaxing and delivered in a positive manner. The combination of meditation and poetry has opened my mind to alternatives. I do find it helpful to meditate frequently and when I am having a “bad time” and cannot calm down quickly. The length of the course is appropriate to get tot he heart of the issue. A follow up session would be useful. I can’t think of any negatives as I have found this course very useful.
